Localisation

Localisation, localisation, localisation! It appears that is the buzzword at the moment that is overshadowing globalisation and all the benefits it has created for our post modernist world. We have entered into space, genetically egineered crops and mammals and we live in a cyber bubble that connects the world in miliseconds. So the question is why are we so disenchanted with where civilsation has arrived at? We are currently more advanced within the last thirty years then civilisation has been since it was breathed into existence. So why all the despondency?

Well one can not say that all of these incredibly huge leaps have not come at a price. Weaker nations are being exploited (as the weakest always have been), for low labour costs as their land is simultaneously exploited for cash crops. These exponents of globalisation feed into a greater hunger for cheaper and an ever increasing quantity of products, for even bigger profits for those who are sowing the seeds of this momentum.

So how does localisation play its part in development and change? I feel that we do not want to undermine the system that is in place as it is the only system that is in place. Therefore we need refine it rather than try and overthrow it. Harmonious redefinition of the factors that can dynamically benefit all is an ideology that can be exported into the FTSE 100 and the Neidek. I believe people are inherently good on the whole and thus when people feel that they are doing good whilst also being able to protect their own interests, solutions for this will have a high propenisty.

Localisation ultimately means that all food that we consume is produced and consumed locally. No packaging thousands of miles from where food is grown and no carbon footprint as aeroplanes fly food all around the world and back again due to cheap labour costs in africa for means of packaging, even though the product may come from Europe and ultimately end up shipped back into Europe to be sold at worldwide chains such as Walmart.

Farmers markets have started to infiltrate the local environment. In the UK this started in the 1997 as a movement to bring food production back to where it all began and since then it has taken off. Local farmer markets in the UK are said to bring in atleast£3.5 billion so their demand is there. Queens Park is my local farmers market and I am going to go there either this weekend or next. I plan to also start growing vegetables in my own back garden as it is rather vast and thus allows for me to do so, my dad will happily engage in this with me and I may have my own allotment before I know it. As I put my feelers out and see how this makes me feel, I feel that I will be able to understand abit more about the direction we are heading in and how we can help to manouvere forward in the right way and importantly harmoniously with capatilism which we must respect aswell.

It needs to happen ecologically and it is this solution that the world is now engaged in. I believe that as natural selection is determinately fatalistic we will have no choice but to find out the most ecological route as nature will either fight back and do it for us or our own cerebral possessions which are of course given to us by nature, might just get there first.

rant rant rant

all ive been doing is ranting. from now on im going to think of productive and positive things to say. this will help me instead of being a cynical person i can be uplifting and happy which is obviously by far more appealing...
the world has so much to offer and is so exciting and all i want to do is explore all it has to offer and really take advantage of it and make the most of it.
the world has crazy offerings and i want to experience every single one of them. this is my single minded purpose at the moment to really go forth and prosper!
i want to master things such as yoga and guitar.. play in gigs to hundreds of people and bend my body into the craziest positions!
i want to be famous, i want to be a star, i want everyone taking my photo and talking my name. i want to have travelled the world and speaking atleast three different languages fluently. i want to have lived the life of luxury surrounded by wonderful friends driving my lambourgini, going home to my mansions and just being spoilt rotten!
i want to help the world. i want to leave my lasting legacy. i want to build schools in africa and brazil and china. i want to make the world a different place

Waking up

Is it me or is waking up an art that needs mastering. Or should i say not waking up but getting out of bed. I lie from sometimes 6 until 8 sometimes 9 (naughty) just appreciating how warm and safe my bed covers are not ever wanting to leave. Once im out of bed its like the real world hits home. Its a sad scary place. But in bed im so safe and warm. i dont have to brace the cold or the harsh reality that is just living and dieing... basically life. And i so want to get out of bed. i want to be productive, go to the gym, have an early morning run or an early morning spinning class. dont get me wrong this is wonderful to be able to do and all in good time that will be how i live my life from 6 oclock in the morning. but right now wow i am struggling! i need to master the art of propelling myself out of my warm bed covers onto the cold wooden floor and into my warm sloppy house clothes. slowly but surely im getting better and better but sometimes i fail miserably and its 9 oclock when i propell myself out of bed. That is the time i should be in work!

I am blogging

I havent blogged for awhile and it feels good to be back. I hope to bring something to the table something of value and something interesting. I am thinking of interesting things I have learnt as an estate agent in recent weeks.
Well there are of course lots of things. i discovered to help keep a house warm you get whats called a chimney balloon and block the air passage. At dinner my family were talking about using my dad as one. However Santa would never come. Well i never had a christmas tree either so a small sacrifice. Other than that you can actually get insulation on the outside of your house! Now this is interesting since when i first heard that i wondered how! It is really quite simple. You bring your drains etc. forward and then you apply the hi tech insulation and then you render over it. I like render alot! Thats def one to consider for the 21st century.
Also whats really on my mind is buying my first property. To be honest that is my main goal at the moment financially. I want it more than anything however i seem to be putting it off aswell. I think im generally terrified as its SUCH a huge step forward and its so outside my comfort zone. However I really want it!
Ive being doing alot of NLP work recently and from what ive learnt it makes me wonder how congruent my financial value are inside me. How much i want wealth and how it will all really turn out and am i going after something that i am actually after or have i just convinced myself its what im after. NLP makes me think about all these really important questions! Right now i dont know where i am and how i feel. Im scared to even explore it coz i always wanted to be rich but then why i am so scared about taking the plunge....

LOVE your clients

I have some inspiring thoughts whirling around this merry merry xmas. Apart from the fact I wish there were more scrooges... :p
I have been listening to a 'marketing master' in my car... hes been filling me in inbetween viewings and key drops and house visits amongst other godforsaken things that i do with my beautiful days.. on how to LOVE your client. No longer your customer NO but your CLIENT. That beautiful, wonderful person that admires you and respects you and calls on you in his time of need. Your name is at the top of their contacts and they want to throw their money at you. reams and reams and reams...
basically you have to really love them and Forget about yourself!
If I think about this, this is professionalism. When you leave yourself behind. Your own baggage. your own sick jokes. Your own disgruntlement. Your own family. Your own weird brother.
I think there is so much in this. It needs to not be about you but completely about your customer. You're just there as a vehicle to get them from A to B as exceptionally and efficiently as possible.
I want to be this. It's hard. But I know I can be alot more of the time. But I still sometimes slip in fat jokes :s
